Most guys think high LH is a good sign.

But in reality?
High LH almost always means your Leydig cells aren’t listening.

Let me break it down:

LH (luteinizing hormone) is the signal.
Testosterone is the response.
If LH is high, but testosterone is low or mid, then the signal is being ignored.

That’s called LH receptor resistance — and it’s a massive reason why many men struggle with low T despite “doing all the right things.”

Quick hormone refresher:

It all starts with kisspeptin, which triggers GnRH (both from the hypothalamus)
GnRH signals the pituitary to release LH and FSH
LH travels to your testes and tells your Leydig cells to produce testosterone
From there, testosterone can be converted to DHT and estrogen

But if your Leydig cells aren’t responding well to LH (due to inflammation, oxidative stress, micronutrient deficiencies, or damage), then testosterone stays low — even with high LH.

That’s why I always say…

A high LH with low T is NOT a win.
It’s a red flag for testicular resistance.

Here are some real-world examples I’ve seen:

Guy A:

LH: 3.5
Total T: 1000
Free T: high

✅ Great Leydig cell sensitivity

Guy B:

LH: 8
Total T: 400

❌ Poor Leydig cell sensitivity

And then you’ve got guys injecting 500 IU of HCG every day…
…or taking 25mg of enclomiphene daily, watching their LH spike to 20…

And yet, their total T still sits around 600–700 ng/dL.
That’s not optimization. That’s over-signaling with under-response.

If you want to:

Fix Leydig cell sensitivity
Understand your LH:T ratio
Avoid wasting time with high-dose Clomid, Enclo, or HCG
And know what your labs are really telling you…
